To my followers, friends, and family,
My name is Huda Alvi and I call myself a LIFE – INFLUENCER.
After starting my own business at the age of 18, it was undeniable that entrepreneurship ran in my bloodline. I went door-to-door selling newspapers and magazines. Then at 25 I opened Istaff Management, my own recruitment firm, which was able to succeed just short of a million-dollar company within its first year. Eight years have passed my business ideas continue to grow. I am now pursing a tech start up with my brother within the HR Industry and have been fueling my social brand online by standing up for causes I believe in.
Due to my own personal hardships as a woman (read below) I have used my social platform to inspire and empower other women by standing up and voicing out my past struggles and experiences. I share my story through a REAL and HONEST lens and do not sugar coat any of my struggles and downfalls. You can find my hashtag #storiedbyhuda to learn more. I’m a woman’s activist and feminist in every way possible. Educating, inspiring and empowering through real life stories are part of my core belief system.
I’m also a wife, mother, stepmother and a Social Media Influencer. I would not be able to do it all without the support of my family. I will often see posts about my three crazy and loveable kids named Jasmine, Adeen and Zaid and an amazing husband (Bub).
My childhood was beautiful and filled with love. As I entered my teenage years, poor decision-making led me to a very rough patch. They say all great things come from adversity, and that couldn’t be truer in my case. I’ve been alone, defeated and tested over and over again. I never pursued higher education because I got married in my teens, I also got divorced at the age of 21 and became a single mom of 2 at the age of 22. As a Muslim woman I faced many battles like social conformity, stereotypes, negativity and more. I stood alone as a single mom for 5 years and broke many traditional, cultural and religious boundaries by elevating my experiences and story. One of strength and pursuit of happiness.I continue to battle and fight each day with a purpose to stand up for myself and all the women who are silent. I believe in being patient and resilient. I hope to make a difference one girl, one woman at a time.
I got re-married to the love of my life, Bub at the age of 28 and became a step mother to a beautiful boy named Adeen. We call our little family “THE BRADYBUNCH” Overcoming these trials helped me turn my struggles into strength. The lessons I learned are constant reminders that I am worth more. They have made me the woman I am today – one who has a passion for building meaningful relationships and inspiring conversations to live a purpose-driven life.
In January of 2016, I started a page on Instagram as a creative outlet for fashion. As my followers grew, I started to recognize how many connections I was making to other women. It struck me that these women need more than just fashion inspiration. Once I realized that I had the power to make a bigger impact, my life has changed in so many meaningful ways. It has brought me closer to my faith, my purpose and has helped me discover my true passion. With this personal change, I now inspire young women and girls by speaking engagements, panel discussions and more. I want to influence YOU, to make better choices, to know that there is always a way out, to follow your passion, to feel more fulfilled and most of all to learn to love life the way it is.
To celebrate my personal growth and discoveries, I founded a movement in early November 2016 called #IAMMORE. The many amazing women and men I met through social media inspire this movement. It is to showcase their work and share their stories to prove that there is so much more than what meets the eye. You can read more about this on my #IAMMORE page.
Lots of Love!
